Joshua Ryan "Jake" Owen is an American country music singer-songwriter from Winter Haven, Florida.
Owen's career began when he met producer/songwriter Jimmy Ritchy, who, along with Chuck Jones, he wrote the Kenny-Chesney-intended 'Ghosts'.  'Ghosts' was not ultimately chosen to be recorded, but the potential Owen showcased caught the attention of Sony BMG executives, and soon he was signed to RCA Nashville.  He released his debut track 'Yee Haw' in 2006; The song peaked at 16 on the Hot Country Songs chart and served as the lead single for his debut album 'Startin' with Me'.  'Startin' With Me' along with Owen's sophomore album 'Easy Does It' held 6 singles in total, all of which hit at least the top 20. He gained his first number-one hit with the title track to his third album 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night' and repeated the feat with 3 more tracks within the album. Owen's fourth effort 'Days of Gold' produced two popular singles, one being the number-one hit 'Beachin'. His fifth and latest studio album 'American Love' was released on July 29, 2016.
