Elvis Presley - Midi Files - Backing Tracks - Midisale.com

Elvis Aaron Presley was an American musician and actor who lived from January 8th, 1935 to August 16, 1977.  Presley was born to parents Gladys and Vernon in Tupelo, Mississippi alongside his stillborn twin brother Jesse Garon, a circumstance that would haunt him his entire life.   When Elvis was around 13, the Presley family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee where his career would fatefully begin 6 years later when recording his first song and subsequently his earliest smash hits such as "That's Alright Mama" with producer Sam Phillips at local Memphis recording studio Sun Records.
Presley's recording contract was picked up by RCA Victor (for the time an unheard of sum of $35,000) likely due to through the promotional efforts of manager Colonel Tom Parker, who would continue to personally manage Presley's career for the rest of his life.

Presley would eventually become one of  the most recognized personalities of the phenomenon now known as Rock and Roll , popularizing it first (in the early days) with styles that in essence combined several genres to create rockabilly, an upbeat blues, country, gospel fusion. This hybrid of high energy hooks, hip shaking electric guitar tones, big beat frequencies was perfectly suited for that hot new medium "45 rpm records" marketed to the nations youth.

"Presley Mania" caught on fire and swept the entire country when Elvis appeared on the Ed Sullivan TV show a popular variety program of the time.
On September 9th, 1956  America witnessed the birth of Rock and Roll as Presley, sang his popular hits and shook up living room TV sets coast to coast.
Gyrating hips and suggestive performances drew the ire and severe criticism from clergy and conservative press as they condemned the future king of Rock and Roll dubbed"Elvis The Pelvis" to concerned parents. it was oblivious something was happening to youthful fans who were known to experience bouts of near hysteria almost everywhere he performed his live concert appearances.      During the early years of his initial success and subsequent rise into popular music culture, Hollywood called and Presley would answer to deliver continual box office hits as he enjoyed commercial movie making success.
His first film debuting in 1956' 'Love Me Tender' featured the young singer in a western that left fans slayed in the aisles, early Presley movie classics include "Jailhouse Rock" and "Loving You" both starring roles he completed before being drafted into the army in 1958.
Presley returned to recording and his movie career after his two year service stint, and wasted no time in creating some of his greatest hits to date including "It's Now Or Never", "Surrender", "His Latest Flame" and "Crying In The Chapel" .
Through the rest of the 60's and 70's, Presley would continue to build on a lucrative film career spanning 27 films including "Blue Hawaii", "Flaming Star" and "Viva Las Vegas" eventually resuming live stage performances that included successful tours and two award winning movie documentaries ("Elvis That's The Way It Is" and "Elvis On Tour".  Presley's prolific recording career was cut short likely due to the pressures of his exhaustive, recording and touring schedule. The world was shocked to learn that Elvis Presley passed away at the age of 42 reportedly due to an accidental prescription drug overdose. (Song Bios Copyright © 2016 J♯).
