. Aubrey Drake Graham, better known as Drake, was born October 24, 1986 in Toronto, Ontario. The rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer first gained mass recognition for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the television series 'Degrassi: The Next Generation'. He dropped the acting for a while to focus on his music, releasing a handful of mix tapes himself before being signed to Young Money Entertainment in 2009. His first major label supported EP, 'So Far Gone', spawned the hit 'Best I Ever Had', which reached the top ten on the US Hot 100.
Drake's next two album efforts, 'Thank Me Later' and 'Take Care', would both top global charts, with the latter spawning the top ten single, 'Take Care'. 'Take Care' would also earn Drake his first Grammy for Best Rap Album that year. 2013's 'Nothing Was the Same' was commercially successful, and included the well-known tracks 'Started From The Bottom', 'Hold On We're Going Home', and 'Worst Behavior'. Over the following two years Drake would release two mixtapes, 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late', and a duo release alongside Future titled 'What A Time To Be Alive'.
Drake's much anticipated 2016 release, 'Views', would earn over 1 million sales in its first week of release, with supporting singles 'Hotline Bling', 'One Dance', and 'Pop Style' all being huge chart toppers. Drake is currently set to headline the 'Summer Sixteen Tour' alongside hip hop partner Future.
