Colbie Marie Caillat is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. Born in Malibu, California, Caillat had music around her from an early age with her father having co-produced Fleetwood Mac's monumental albums 'Rumours' and 'Tusk'. As she grew, Caillat realized a passion for singing and pursued vocal lessons. Her dream led her to auditioning for American Idol twice, both times rejected; she later noted this as 'what was best'.  Rejection from American Idol wasn't too harsh on Caillat, for her Myspace popularity made her the number one unsigned act in her genre for four months at one point. After the release of her first album 'Coco' in 2008, the huge commercial success of its supporting single 'Bubbly', and touring with the likes of The Goo Goo Dolls and John Mayer, Caillat had built up an impressive following for her second release, 'Breakthrough'.  'Breakthrough' hosted the international hit 'Fallin' For You' and Caillat was recognized as BMI's songwriter of the year, marking her proven talent and success. As of 2016, Caillat can be seen on tour for her new tape 'The Malibu Sessions' which features the single 'Goldmine'.
