 Howard Andrew "Andy" Williams was an American singer and TV personality. Over his lengthy career spanning 8 decades, Williams released 44 albums, fifteen going Gold and three hitting Platinum in the US.  Williams began his first endeavor in music when he formed The Williams Brothers quartet with his brothers in 1938. The group played on the radio all over the Midwest and sang on a handful of soundtracks for musical films.  The brothers were soon after to be signed by MGM, and though one brother parting for military service temporarily put the group signing on hiatus, once reunited they worked with former radio star Kay Thompson to form a nightclub act which would become an overnight sensation in Las Vegas.  The act wouldn't last after 1949, though Williams stayed in contact with Kay Thompson and was romantically involved with her previously during touring. She would go on to become the vehicle to his success as the two stayed close, composing a majority of his music and having access to all the right people in the industry at the time.  1953 would be the year Williams would take on a full and prosperous solo career that would last the rest of his life. Throughout the 60's and 70's Williams would collaborate with several artists and release a string of highly successful singles, cementing him into the industry as one of the most popular and sought after vocalists of the 20th Century.  In the 90's after being invited to small-town Branson, Missouri by his brother, Williams was inspired by a local theater performance and opened his own theater called Moon River Theater the following year.  Two decades after the theater's opening, during which time the theater would be featured on noted programs and host many famous guests, Williams unexpectedly appeared there and announced his diagnosis of bladder cancer, which would unfortunately take him the following year.
